Cookie Policy
Hirello Pty Ltd, ACN 684 688 211 and ABN 57 684 688 211, registered in Balmain NSW 2041 AUSTRALIA and governed by New South Wales law. Australia is the base document; other countries are covered where they apply.
This Cookie Policy explains how Hirello Pty Ltd (ACN 684 688 211, ABN 57 684 688 211), trading as Hirello ("Hirello", "we", "us", "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions. Hirello operates in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you use a website or app. "Similar technologies" include tracking pixels, tags and code snippets that work in a comparable way. They let a service recognise your device, remember your preferences and understand how a service is used.
2. The cookies we use
We use cookies and similar technologies for session management, state management and internal platform processes - for example, keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences and making core features work - and, as described in section 3, for advertising. We do not sell this information or disseminate it to third parties for profit.
You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the platform may not work as intended if you do.
3. Advertising and tracking pixels
We use tracking pixels and code snippets from Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok and Google. We use these only to serve and measure advertising based on your events and preferences within the app - nothing more. We do not sell your personal information.
These are non-essential technologies. You can control or limit ad personalisation through the advertising and privacy settings offered by those platforms, and through your browser or device settings (see section 5).
4. Categories at a glance
| Category | Purpose | Set by | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary / functional | Session management, state management and internal processes (sign-in, preferences, core features) | Hirello | Not required |
| Advertising / tracking pixels | Serving and measuring advertising based on your in-app events and preferences | Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Google | Required where local law applies (e.g. UK/EU) |
5. How to control cookies
- Browser and device settings - you can block or delete cookies, though core features may stop working.
- Advertising platform settings - Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok and Google each provide ad and privacy controls to limit personalised advertising.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC) - we are introducing support for the GPC browser signal for United States visitors, as an opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for advertising. Until that support is available, please use the opt-out at privacy@hirello.com or the platform and browser controls above.
6. Consent (UK, EU/EEA and where else required)
Where the law requires it - including in the United Kingdom and the EU/EEA - we ask for your consent before setting non-essential (advertising) cookies and pixels, and you can withdraw that consent at any time through the cookie controls provided. Strictly necessary and functional cookies do not require consent because the platform cannot operate without them.
7. Data controller and your rights
Our data controller and Privacy Officer is Robert McMurtrie. For any request, email privacy@hirello.com.
You can exercise your right to rectification and your right to be forgotten (erasure) directly in the app - by editing your profile and deleting your account - or by emailing us.
Caveat on erasure and retention. When you exercise the right to be forgotten, we will stop using your data across our app and for training purposes (including but not limited to those uses). However, because Hirello operates across multiple legal jurisdictions, we are required by law to retain certain information - including "know your customer" (KYC) and "know your business" (KYB) records, and billing and financial information relating to your account - for up to seven (7) years. We will always comply with lawful data requests from local, state and federal law-enforcement and government agencies, in line with the legal requirements of operating in that jurisdiction. Your full rights are set out in our Privacy Policy.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time by posting the updated version on this page. Each version is dated.
